Prof. Ado Dan-Isa has been contributing in the areas of engineering and ICT for decades and has mentored many. In the early days of the NUNet he had the opportunity to design and implement computer networks in the five campuses of Bayero University, where he was the Head of the NUNet Unit. He attended many national and international IT policy meetings and was a resource person in the development of Nigeria's ICT4D policy document, which has positive impacts in the current developments in Nigeria. He is also a trustee of the Board of Nigeria ICT Forum for Partnership Institutions, an institution he actively helped to create in 2004. Prof. Dan-Isa was the former Head of Electrical Engineering Department, former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and member of the Bayero University Governing Council for four years. He is a registered engineer (COREN), a registered computer professional (CPN), member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS). Currently he is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Bayero University, Kano and Head of the Control and Soft Computing Research Group. The group actively pursues research in the applications of artificial intelligence in control and electronic biomedical devices. He is married and has children. Prof. Dan-Isa is Bayero University’s Grants Liaison Officer (MacArthur Foundation Grants), a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Nigeria ICT Forum of Partnership Institutions, a Director at Noveleq Nigeria Limited and a Board Member of the Technical Board for the Electronic Development Institute, Awka.
